Have you thought about looking around the corner like a cheat in egoshooter? Knowing what is coming? Who is waiting for you? So, probalby in a couple of years your glasses will have some extra feature providing this! Watch this well cut video to see how it works. Found at radar.oreilly.com
Microsoft Research just presented a project called IllumiShare (at the atlantic), which is a shared desk by means of a camera and projector. You write on a dedicated area and your online partner is abe to see your drawings in realtime on his/her desk area. So it enables you to, for instance, play tic tac toe together. I like this sort of interaction as it feels natural and is a quite variable solution of always changing human to human interaction. Found at Microsoft Research blog
That is a Kinect shown in a browser (Chrome and Firefox 11 beta)! Made by George MacKerron - a developer and researcher based in London - its has three stages: a Python script which reduces video data and streams it to a server, Node.js broadcasts its data to a Webbrowser. You can share or see the stream of others as well if you link into their broadcast. I think this is an awesome tool and gives us a tool for Live-Gesture-Video-HTML5-Apps coming soon from nerds like us. Its free and available for download at his website. Found at Radar O’Reilly
That is a nice and intelligent App bringing photographie on a new standard: You can remove people or other obstacles by simply marking them. But they must be in movement before because Scalado’s Remove compares a stream of pictures and thus detects fore- and background. Its simply basic methods of video tracking. If you want some technical background, check the slides of my workshop about Video Tracking at node10 at Frankfurt. Found at Basic Thinking

Just a short glimpse out of a recent presentation of KinectFusion System at 28C3. The video is 1h long and gives a deep insight into all techniques used for this futuristic work. Building and storing a 3d world from Kinect data was a side project only, told David Kim, because initially the goal was a augmented project with a pio beamer and kinect in one device. Side project went to become a big star and SLAM projector slightly vanished out of sight. You can see this one from minute 55:00 on. Major disadvantage is a big offset of projector as David said. Actually both are really awesome and I hope to have the opportunity to make some projects with it soon.
In Movie “Reel Steel” the plot develops a boxing robots. These robots are autonomous in different stages, beginning from remote-controlled, to autonomous and finally learning robots. After some researchs boxing organisations recognised people are watching for brute force only and boxing became dominated by robots quickly. I thick this future isn’t so far as we might think. Actually its a good forecast of current technologies.
